Australian People

Some of the injustices that these Aboriginal people were faced with as the European people setters began to colonize the western coast of Australian are as follows.......  well like the title of the third chapter, the aboriginal society were declined. But to go even more in depth to point out the main facts of why this was is this..... That when they first came to Australia it was pretty much first come first served. Who ever got there first got the best housing to live in, which were the rich rather then the poor.  The Europians' destroyed their original way their society worked and they  also banished them from their owned land.  It was about the same when the native Americans where forced to be slaves, which the Aborigines are forced to o things they don't want to do.  No this is not right because it is not justified in the reading.

Coral bleaching :(/ why should we even care about the coral reef???

To under stand coral bleaching you need to know what kind of coral is more effected.  The coral that is being effected is called polyp, it i s considered coral because it is shaped like an upside down jellyfish. Coral is very sensitive to the temperature of water, so it cant be to high or even to low for that matter.  But the main reason coral gets bleached is because the coral losses its food. Also, when it changes color because the water temp. is to high.  Scientists think coral bleaching is happening now more then ever, is because there is so much climate change.  But there are many ways that people can prevent this.......by recycling, using less electricity, and also riding bikes instead of driving cars that pollute the air.

The coral reef is a very populated and it holds over 1,500 species of animals.  The reason for the warming of oceans is because of the climate changes.  This effects the coral because they can not get any food and the fish can not withstand the such warm water so the move to cooler temperature water.  Another three ways that can help prevent this, is by......walking to use less energy, open windows instead of using the air conditioner, and donate things that you might not need any more instead of throwing them away so you don't create more garbage to pollute the earth.

There are some drawbacks and some benefits to using this kind of media to teach this information. An example of two drawbacks would be that you cant always find the info that you want if your watching a cartoon about it, Also, it distracts you from the real point of the video.  Then there are to examples of why there could be some benefits from teaching the info this way.  It can be more fun and easy for other people to teach this info. Why We Travel :)

1. The reason I travel, is to lose yourself in the new ssurroundings. Also, to learn about and see what different cultures are. "Yet for me the first great joy is simply the luxury of leaving all my beliefs and certainties at home." This is exactly what happens to me when I travel, because you see how different their culture and beliefs are. So you see it all in a different light, something you would never of thought of before.

2.  "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new places, but in seeing with new eyes." This means that when you travel you have an image of what is going to look and be like. But when you get there you are totally blown back because you were wrong about what you assumed it would look and be like. This relates to me because i always have an image of what a different place might be like and what I'm going to experience, but as I explained I'm blown back on what I actually see and see that i was totally wrong.

3. "What gives value to travel is fear." This means is that the best part of traveling is that not knowing about where you are going.  This relates to our journey because we already learning about the place we are traveling to. So that we don't have to see and what we are going to experience when we go there.

4. I think we do have a responsibility to share our knowledge and experience with all we visit and the people we return to. Because it is important to inform others that don't know about your culture. Also, for them to inform you how they live and about their culture. It just gives you and others more information about different cultures, that others and you didn't know about before.

5. My favorite quote is actually one of the very first on this article. It was when Lyer says "We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next, to find ourselves." The reason this quote is my favorite is that it is so true. It is exactly what happens when i travel to new places. Plus it opens you to new experiences that you might have when you travel

 My name is Alex and the reason I signed up for this was because I really love to travel. Also, because I love the experience to go somewhere I  have never been to before. I feel like I could learn alot when I am there. For example, culture, food, sand seenery.

During this i hope to learn how they live, whats their every day scheduale. Whats normal to them. Also what kinda food they have and how is it different to ours. But mostly their culture because i would like to compare and see how different or how simmular it might be.

The thing that will proubly interest me the most about Australia and New Zeland, is the accents that people might have there. How different the food might taste. Maybe even  the way it feels to be somewhere so different then I'm used to.

The reason learning about where I'm going before i go there is important is because you can adapt to whats around you a little bit faster. Rather then having a complete culcher shock and not know anything about that country at all.  So I think its a good idea to learn about these countries.

I would really want to see a kangeroo!!!!

Australia looks really pretty and i cant wait to see it all!!!!
